We've listed our five must-have items for any work area, and since no shop is ever really completed, we've also included five items that are on our shop wish list. But you don't need expensive and fancy equipment to make your own garage a place to gets things done. Luxuries include a tire-mounting machine, a parts-washing sink filled with solvent, a glass-beading cabinet and a sandblaster. So far we've populated it with a full set of mechanic's tools, five different welding machines, an assortment of fabrication tools, automotive bodyworking tools and sundry supplies. PM's workshop, a dedicated space in a New Jersey industrial park, gives editors a place to fabricate things and photograph them for the magazine.
